Feeding America and our member food banks provide backpacks full of nutritious food to children across the United States to take home on weekends and school vacations when other resources are not available.

The mission of the BACKPACK PROGRAM is to help alleviate child hunger in America by providing hungry children with nutritious and easy to prepare food at times when other resouces are not available, such as weekends and school vacations.

Backpack Program Logo The program provides backpacks filled with food that is child-friendly, non-perishable, and easily-consumed. Backpacks are discreetly distributed to children on the last day before the weekend or holiday vacation.
